In short: OkayToWalk is free. To keep it running, some links to travel services are partner (affiliate) links: if you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Partners never influence the crime data, risk levels or routes.

How it works

Some links on the site, for example to search hotels in an area or book tours, travel insurance or travel SIM cards, contain a partner code. If you click one and make a booking or purchase, the provider may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price as you would without our link.

How partner links are marked

Partner links are labeled as such (for example “Partner link” or “Ad”) right where they appear, and are marked for search engines as sponsored. This page explains them in more detail.

Our independence

• Crime data, risk levels, rankings and suggested routes are calculated only from public crime data and our own method. No partner can pay to change them.
• We will not steer you toward areas with more reported crime because a partner pays more, and we only include partner offers that are relevant to travelers.
• We do not share your personal data with partners. We receive only aggregated booking reports.
